Welcome back to the new school year!  We are very excited about our upcoming year with all of you.

Are you interested in a Law Enforcement Career?  This is a GREAT opportunity for you.  The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department is recruiting new members for their Explorer Program.  Informational meeting is being held on Tuesday, September 29th at 7:00 p.m.  Details in the career center.  

College Information

Grand Valley State University has three dates in October/November for their open house.  Visit www.gvsu.edu/visit to schedule a visit.

Mott Community College is hosting a COLLEGE NIGHT on October 29th from 6-7:30 pm at Ballenger Field House.  A great opportunity to visit over 50 colleges & universities.  They will have a financial workshop at 7pm and information on Dual Enrollment.  GREAT Opportunity.

U of M Flint has “Fall Previews Saturday’s” - Tour the campus, talk to current students & faculty. October 10, October 24 and November 14 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Baker College has up to $6,400 in scholarships available.  Come pick up more information in the career center.

Great Pumpkin 5k Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 10th at Cardinal Stadium. If you are interested in helping with this event, please sign up in the career center.  Volunteers needed for the day to help with registration and help guide walkers/runners for the race.  

Wonderfully Wicked Woods – October 24 from 11-6 to help with set up and tear down.  Help with games, crafts, hand out candy, toys, snacks.  Come dressed in kid friendly costumes.  15 volunteers need.  Please sign up in career center.

St. John’s Family Center is looking for volunteers for their Family

ASVAB Testing

Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery Test

Testing date is Thursday, October 29th starting at 7:30 a.m.  

Reminder - this test does not have military obligation it is an Aptitude test - valuable for career exploration

This is open to 10th - 11th - 12th grade students only.

Please sign up in the career center for this test.
